The Umbrella That Liked the Rain

A free story for little kids · read aloud by parents

Every umbrella dreaded rain, except Uma. Uma loved the pitter-patter on her canopy. 'It's the sky playing drums for me!' she sang.

Children fought to hold Uma. Under her, puddles became oceans and raindrops became confetti.

When the sun came out, Uma rested in the stand, humming. 'Rain or shine,' she said, 'I am happy to be useful.'

And on the next grey morning, a small girl grabbed Uma first, because she knew that umbrella would dance in the storm.
